Stony Lake South

Due to lack of recent industrial access into the area, this site has a fairly remote and rugged feeling that offers a great experience for adventurers. Please see the Driving Directions for a description of the road conditions. Once at the site, there are fantastic views of the landscape surrounding Stony Lake while at this lakeside site. The site offers space for 3 camping parties (but in fairly close quarters). Tables, rock fire rings and a pit toilet are provided. There is a small unimproved boat launch suitable for car top boats. The lake offers good fishing opportunities for rainbow trout, kokanee and lake trout. Please note that set lines are not permitted in Stony Lake.

*Please note that the final 3km of the access road is extremely rough and brushy and may be inaccessible for vehicles. This site is best accessed by launching a boat at one of the other sites on the lake and accessing from the water*

The site is accessible south of Hixon, turn left onto the 700rd near Dunkley Lumber. Keep to the right of junction just past 751km. Turn left at ~754km. The site is at the end of the road (~3kms). This site is also accessible from the Willow Cale FSR, turn right at approximately 187km, connect with the 700rd and turn right onto the Teapot Road (751km).
