About
Description: A medium sized 25 site campground nestled amongst beautiful mature cedar and fir trees along the Chilliwack River. This site is suitable for most vehicles, but access is by a Forest Service gravel road. There are an additional 4 campsites located at the nearby Rapids Staging area.
The The Rapids Staging Area is open year round and perfect for off-loading motorbikes and ATVs . It accesses the Bear Cub Beginner's Riding Loop which is designed to provide a safe learning field for the novice rider. There is a 100 cc engine restriction, but adults are able to accompany the youth rider
NOTE: campfires at the Staging Area are only permitted in designated fire rings, and fees for overnight camping will be collected on-site by Hosts
Payment for camping permits and firewood are Cash Only. Reservations will be accepted for May 15, 2025 - August 31, 2025 at www.firesidecamping.ca

NOTE - All visitors are required to exit the site by 9:30 PM as gates are locked at 10:00 PM and will remain closed until 8:00 AM. This site has on-site supervision during camping season.
The Staging Area is OPEN year round.
Driving Directions
Follow the Trans-Canada Hwy (Hwy 1) east from Vancouver and take Exit 119 onto Vedder Road. Turn left at Chilliwack Lake Road and drive approximately 26.5 km. Turn off the highway onto the Bench Forest Service Road (FSR). At approximately 2 km keep left at the junction and continue on Bench FSR for a total of 6.1 km from the highway. You will pass the Chipmunk Peninsula Recreation Site at approximately 4.3 km.
