Maxan Lake

A 12-unit, semi-open, forested campground on a sheltered bay of Maxan Lake. This site has a gravel boat launch, two outhouses, and spacious campsites. This site can be popular for hunters and anglers, there are rainbow trout in Maxan Lake.

From Burns Lake, travel east for 15 km on Hwy 16 to the turnoff for Decker Lake Sawmill. Follow this road for approx. 2.5 km to the start of Maxan Road. At 6 km on the Maxan, turn right onto the Thompson road, following the Thompson until the 17 km sign board. Cross the bridge and turn left onto the Maxan Creek FSR, drive ~1.5 km south, turning left at the junction. Head north 650 meters then turn right onto the next road follow for 1.7 km to reach the site. Alternate access is Forestdale Road from Hwy 16 between Rose Lake and Topley.
