About
This is a beautiful, semi-open, forested campground within the Boer Mountain Recreation Site. It has a large parking area for RV's/Trailers and 20 spacious sites. The campsite has been recently expanded to provide more sites and accessible options for campers. There are 2 accessible outhouses at this site, a fishing/swimming dock (scheduled for replacement in 2025) and a gravel boat launch area with small dock (also scheduled for replacement in 2025). There are 4 walk-in tenting areas on the lakeside trail. This trail goes completely around Kager Lake and is very popular for walking, jogging, biking, and skiing in winter months. There is an extensive, world renowned, mountain bike trail network (100+km of trails) available directly from the campsites. Kager Lake was (up until 2024) stocked with rainbow trout, the lake has a self sustaining trout population and catch rate is usually good. This is a great spot to take beginners and children to learn how to fish and have decent chance at success! Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC will be completing dock upgrades and accessibility upgrades during 2025 so there may be temporary closures of some dock/trail facilities as upgrades take place during summer/fall 2025. Please be sure to purchase a fishing licence and consult the BC Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis for limits, special regulations and closures: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/sports-recreation-arts-and-culture/outdoor-recreation/fishing-and-hunting/freshwater-fishing/region_6_skeena.pdf
