This fishing lake is a water supply and so water levels will fluctuate significantly. The small rainbow trout are abundant here. There is no ice fishing at this lake allowed. Island Lake is now a Fee-For-Service Recreation Site with a Site Operator and fees to camp overnight.Dogs must be under control at all times, and Generator Use is restricted from 9-11am and 6-8pm. Quiet hours are 11pm-7am. Do not hold campsites. There are no reservations, and sites must be occupied for the purpose of camping. Vehicles, Trailers, Tents or other personal property left unattended may be removed at the owner's expense.
Driving Directions
From Winfield Hwy 97, turn east onto Beaver Lake Road. The paved portion of the road is usually poor, but the gravel portions are normally well maintained. Drive 15 km, and at Beaver Lake Resort, turn left onto Dee Forest Service Road. Travel an additional 9.5 km to Island Lake which will be located on the right (east) side of the road. <BR> <BR> Alternatively, access from Lavington. Travel 16.25 km up Aberdeen Forest Service Road and turn right onto Dee Lake FSR, and Island Lake is 9.5 km on the left side of the road (east).
