About
Although located only 20 km off the highway, this site offers a more remote feeling experience than some of the other sites in the area. There are 3 small camping pads nestled amongst some mature trees near the water's edge. There is a gravel boat launch available, and the basic amenities of a pit toilet, tables and fire rings are provided. The lake offers angling opportunities for rainbow trout and is stocked annually with Blackwater strain rainbows. Please note that this is a very small/tight site and is not suitable for large or even medium size units.
Driving Directions
From the Mackenzie Junction, head south for about 3 km and turn onto the Finlay North (Pack) FSR. At about 10 km, turn left onto the Sabai Mainline, just past the bridge over the Pack River. Proceed for an additional 10 km and turn left onto the Butternut FSR. The site is located about 3 km along this road (keep left at the main Y just after the bridge over the small creek).
