About
Brewster Camp Rec Site is located along the Sayward Forest Canoe Route and it is also the start of the 34km Salmon Brewster Horse Trail. The rec site is divided by the Gray Lake FSR with one side being an open grassy area overlooking the lake channel while the other side has a more equestrian focus complete with horse corrals. Once the site of "the New Houses" associated with the old Camp 5 logging camp, this area is rich with history. A kiosk at Apple Point Recreation Site just down the road provides a picture of what life was like at 'Camp 5' in the 1950's. Sites 1-7 require a fee for service from May long weekend to Labor Day weekend each season. The horse corral area is not included in the fee structure while camping with horses. Please pack out what you pack in. All sites are first come, first served and payment on site is cash only.
