About
This site sits along the Bairnsfather Creek, just west of the Nilkitkwa FSR. The site serves as an overflow camping site for BC Parks Babine River Corridor Park. There are 8 campsites in a large, open site with room for RV's/trailers. This is a popular site when sockeye salmon season is open (generally August-Sept) on the Babine River. Due to the high concentration of sockeye salmon and proximity to Babine River, there can also be high concentration of bears during this time. Please be bear aware, keep campsites clean of garbage/fish/food sources and scents etc. The site is user maintained, please pack out what you pack in! The road is often busy with logging traffic, a VHF radio with Resource Road channels is recommended for travel here. Please be sure to purchase a fishing licence and consult the BC Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis for limits, special regulations and closures: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/sports-recreation-arts-and-culture/outdoor-recreation/fishing-and-hunting/freshwater-fishing/region_6_skeena.pdf Also, be sure to check the DFO non-tidal salmon limits, openings and closures: https://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/bc-zones-cb-eng.html
