About
Apple Point is located along the Sayward Forest Canoe Route overlooking Brewster Lake. There are two locations for camping separated by large poplar and maple trees. A few sites are located in the shade with a number of sites situated in an open, sunny area. This site once housed families living at the old Camp 5 logging camp. A kiosk at the site provides information of what life was like at 'Camp 5' in the 1950's. There are a few apple trees found on site that still produce bright red apples each fall. Please pack out what you pack in. A fee for service is in effect from May long weekend to Labor Day long weekend each year. All sites are first come, first served and payment on site is cash only.
Driving Directions
From Campbell River, travel north on Highway 19. Turn left onto Menzies Mainline, follow along the mainline for approx. 16.5kms and the rec site is located on the right just before the Brewster Lake bridge.
