  1. Owners are very rude!!! I wanted to take the kids on a vacation while their dad was away on tour in Afghanistan. Most important thing was swimming for them. I arrived and paid my fees for the week, found the beach to be full of blue green algae, unacceptable for swimming NOT one sign stating that the lake was full of algae, owner never said anything when I registered. When I asked to be reimbursed they proceeded to tell me that there were no refunds….that they couldn’t help what was happening to the lake. But they could have let me make an informed decision to stay or not. But instead I felt attacked by the man that owned the place and felt bullied and uncomfortable the rest of my stay. I would not recommend this campground to anyone, even if you were not interested in lake. Worst experience I have ever encountered. Pictures on their website of the beach are alot nicer than what it actually is.

  2. I found I am not the only one with a bad experience with this campground. I was mislead over the phone booking 3 nights at $ 150 a night for a cabin at the beach, what we got was $ 150 a night a beach we couldn’t swim at because of blue green algae, the smell was terrible, the tv didnt work the first day, the dvd player was broken, and I had to was dishes and utensils before we could use them. I am disgusted at the way we were treated and mislead, and as for a reimbursment, no way, no refunds. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is a complete rip off.

  3. Well I had a complete different experience than Tracy Trenholm and Michelle Parks mind you there was no Blue/Green Algie when I was there and anybody who does any camping in Alberta knows that is just a hazzard of the Alberta Lakes and can happen any time after a good warm spell as far as the owners being rude I got the impression that they treat a person with cutisey and respect if they are treated thay way, as far as broken tvs etc. that didnt happen to me but I amagine if they would of knowen that would of been rectified as our experience was great no problems except for the weather, mind you we read our contract before we signed and returned it with our deposit and we new that there is no refunds after all people lets think about this how can any resort offer refunds for what mother nature throws at us.
You just make due with like in our case bad weather put our rain coats on and had a true Alberta camping experience if you want a gaurenteed nice weather and water experience best leave the province?

  5. This could be a great campground. The potential is there.
I had a site there for one season and I found the couple that own it to be very ignorant. They continually send out threatening emails. They are very hard to deal with.
Larry, the male owner is belligerent and does not care about his treatments of his guests. He yelled at my kids multiple time…. For ridiculous reasons.
Playing on the dock….going in and out of the store too often ( to buy candy)
I could go on but you get the rough idea.
If you shovel choose this campground, avoid the owners at all cost. It’s the only way you can enjoy yourself

  6. This is a classic case of the owners not caring about there guests.
Perhaps not used to the real hospitality business.
Picking on a Canadian Forces Family angers me. I will let everyone I ever met not to camp here. Doesn’t seem like anything a even would try. Theirs plenty of places to go elsewhere where all are welcome!

Let everyone know your experience
