Author Campground Review

We stayed here June 2016 and I was very pleasantly surprised. My wife chose the campground and I spent a little time looking at reviews online. Most seemed pretty negative, but for that matter most campgrounds in Drumheller had mostly negative comments. So I was concerned, but with the location being so close to the activities we had planned for the weekend I figured it should be alright no matter what. I can say that whatever the concerns and issues people had, we had a great time and I certainly would camp here again. We actually talked about how maybe we should spend more time in Drumheller. The campground was clean, well maintained, and the staff were very friendly. Granted there wasn't much privacy between sites, but these are the badlands, there aren't a lot of trees anyways. It was a great campground and a great weekend.

  1. I was not happy at all with this campsite. Nothing is included in your site fees. If you want to have a fire it’s $10 a night for a fire pit rental, a fire pit is an old washing machine drum welded to an old lawn mower body and is brought to your campsite, if there are any available. Wifi is $3 a day per wireless device. Showers are $2 for 4 minutes and the site is not very nice. Just a flat property is the middle of a desert. Oh and they have a shuttle to the royal tyrel museum that is $5 per person. It’s 5 km away from the campsite and there is free parking at the museum for cars, trucks and rv’s too. All in all, I will never stay at this campsite again. You’d be better off staying at Walmart.
