  1. We camped at the Leduc Lion’s Campground a couple of years ago, and will be going there again soon. When we stayed there last, it was a beautifully maintained facility, very clean washrooms. However if it wasn’t for a sports camp our son was attending that was very close by, we wouldn’t be staying there again. Their rule about only allowing small dogs is, I feel, absolutely ridiculous. I’m not totally sure of why this rule is in place, I was told it had something to do with an incident in which large breed dog attacked a small breed dog. Many small breed dogs cause just as much chaos or more than large breed dogs, and I am a small dog owner. Unfortunately incidents like this are the cause of irresponsible owners not the dog. You can’t screen for irresponsible dog owners, just like you can’t screen for irresponsible campers that cause damage or don’t follow other rules. So why are large breed dog owners being punished? Especially when I’m told that a Jack Russell Terrier (small breed dog) bit someone in this very same campground. So I think you need to either deal with these incidents as they arise, or not allow any dogs at all in the campground!
